One of the things that bothers/terrifies Lian the most is the knowledge that the entire university ships Kuea and Diao.

People chronicle every interaction between them.

There are fanfics written about them.

There is an entire WEBPAGE devoted to the theory that they're secretly lovers.

The university built a whole-ass ship around Kuea and Diao and how hands-on snuggly they are with each other.

Since their dynamic is never explained in Cutie Pie or Naughty Babe and you have to wonder if Diao was kidnapped by Yi when he got off the plane:

As far as Diao remembers, he grew up in the UK, alone, with all expenses covered by the extravagantly wealthy Chen family. Everything he owns was bought with Chen money. Every class or extracurricular was done with the blessings of the Chen family. All with the understanding that he is the future son-in-law of the family.

Diao comes back to Thailand for University along with Kuea. He gets off the plane in a country he hasn't seen since he was 6 years old and is immediately taken to a formal engagement ceremony and that is the first time he ever even sees Hia Yi.

Diao tries to be good, tries to be polite, but Phayak won't speak to him unless absolutely necessary. That night, he is taken not to the mansion, not to a nice apartment, but to the Chen's car showroom. There is an apartment above it with windows that look down into the sales floor, his luggage is placed there, and Yi basically says "Okay bye".

For seven years.

So at this point, Diao and Yi are actually engaged already.

Diao, babygirl, you're a bit of a State Secret right now, but you are the hand-picked 'bride-to-be' of a family as infamous as the Keerati's are famous.

"How do we convey that Kuea and Diao are in England in this scene?"

It's never confirmed or denied, but Makorn must have been involved when Lian and Kuea's parents made their deal to send Kuea to study in the UK.

The way Yi and Lian met was that they were classmates and got into a fight with each other over whose 6 year old fiancée was cuter. Because that's totally something a high school year 10 would be proud of. The first-grader they're marrying (This was shortly before the incident where Diao was traumatized and sent abroad).

Diao in Naughty Babe talks about how painfully alone he was until Kuea came to live with him and drag him around and help him make friends.

Makorn was always Diao's secret guardian, and he absolutely arranged for Kuea to go to him so the boy would have a friend.

Diao really just said "Hoes before bros" not 30 seconds after promising Kuea he'd stay.

First and foremost, love the touch of having Diao's phone set to English, which makes sense because the boy grew up in England. Also, shoutout to realistic remaining battery after a long day.

Second, Android Supremacy.

Third: Top left corner, 23:59-- Kuea went to have dinner with Lian, who noted---

He waited at the office for a long while, they fought, he was driven home, drove to his SECRET home, and met Diao, got blind drunk, and threw himself a karaoke party.

And it's ONLY MIDNIGHT?????

For me, this was the biggest mistake in Cutie Pie.

Kuea is sobbing in Foei's car, he gets out, the music instantly snaps to cheeky, and a fairly upbeat NuNew voiceover narrates the texts, with Diao replying (sounding like his trademark ball of anxiety).

Kuea calmly gets into a rideshare car and then-

He's sobbing again when he gets to the secret house where Diao is waiting.

It makes it feel like Kuea's pain is performative. Like he's using it as an act to get sympathy points or being insincere.

I like seeing Kuea in Foei's car crying while Foei looks concerned. I get that a transition was needed because Foei can't drop Kuea off at that secret house, and it'd be weird to hard-smash to Kuea just there.

But absolutely slaughtering the tone in that transition outside Kuea's place was NOT the answer.

... ... ... I'm sorry, all I can think about is that episode of Psych where everyone made fun of Shawn's "Psychic Face" and it really just super emphasized how weird it was when he was imagining things the rest of them couldn't see.

NuNew's english is very good, truly.

But since Kuea learned it in the UK, shouldn't he and Diao have British accents when they speak English?
